Job Title:  Tour Guide and Facilitator of great Experiences

This job will involve delivering mainly sightseeing tours and guided hiking tours.

Canadian Rockies Experience is a private boutique company offering luxury private sightseeing tours, easy to moderate guided hikes in the Canadian Rocky Mountain National Parks and Kananaskis Country. 

Our Mission:

To deliver first-class, intimate, personalized driving tours and guided experiences.  Canadian Rockies Experience guides aim to ignite moments of wonder and a connection to nature while being stewards of the environment at the highest level.

Our Clients:

We cater to those interested in visiting the highlights of the Canadian Rocky Mountains and guests interested in exploring easy to moderate summer and winter hikes. 

Positions available, starting Late April/May 2024:

Tour guide and facilitator(s): full-time, part-time.

We are looking for passionate individuals to facilitate our guest's once-in-a-lifetime trip in the Rockies. Tours include pick up and drop off of clients in our luxury SUVs or executive vans, set-up of picnics for clients, delivery of information about the area and sights visited. Tours are half days, full-days or multi-days with some overnight stays required for guides. 

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Preparing paperwork for guests such as waivers.

  • Collect and greet guests at their accommodations. Client groups are generally 8 or less.

  • Conversing with guests to educate them about the area.

  • Ensuring the guests get the experiences they are looking for.

  • Leading hikes safely.

  • Driving to various locations and introducing clients to the area.

Skills and Qualifications

  • ACMG certification or Apprentice Interpretive Guide certification required, Professional Interpretive guide preferred. Certifications must be current and in good standing.

  • Class 4 drivers’ licence or willingness to achieve one.

  • Clean drivers abstract.

  • Wilderness First Aid – 40 hours or willingness to achieve this.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree is an advantage.

  • Significant work experience in customer service preferred.

Compensation:

  • Pay ranges from $25 per hour plus generous gratuities often prepaid.

  • Paid training is provided

  • Uniform allowance is included

Applicants who are selected will complete a short 10 minute interview over Zoom. If successful, an in-person interview will follow. Assessment of driving skills and hiking ability will also follow if success in the interview is achieved.
